Rahnuma Public School (PATH)

The School provides primary and secondary education for 450 children between the ages of 4 to 16 from nursery to matriculation, in Azam Basti. These are underprivileged children who cannot afford any schooling. Their parents earn their living as domestic help for higher income families or as small stall keepers. We aim to give them the same standard of education as we give the most privileged kids in Karachi. It is our dream to develop at least 1 scientist, 1 writer, 1 poet, 1 software programmer, 1 teacher, 1 artist who will make a name for him/herself and  for Pakistan. This is the second year running that our students have successfully passed their matriculation examinations from Agha Khan University board of Education (AKUB).
From the age of 12 on wards we see a steep drop in the number of students as they leave school to help their parents earn a living. While we are trying to stem this by giving financial incentives, we try to give the children in our care a taste of childhood while they are with us, a love for learning and a desire to better their life. We teach them music and art in addition to the curriculum. To see our latest Audited Annual Accounts please click onAnnual Accounts under Gallery above

We have for a second year running provided English proficiency training for our teaching staff. This year it was provided by INFAQ Foundation while last year we paid for this training and commissioned it from LearnTech.pk http://learntech.pk/
