Rahnuma Public School (PATH)

The School provides primary and secondary education to almost 300 children between the ages of 4 to 18 from nursery to Class 9, in Azam Basti. These are underprivileged children who cannot afford any schooling. Their parents earn their living as domestic help for higher income families or as small stall keepers. We aim to give them the same standard of education as we give the most privilged kids in Karachi. It is our dream to develop at least 1 scientist, 1 writer, 1 poet, 1 software programmer, 1 teacher, 1 artist who will make a name for him/herself and  for Pakistan. From the age of 12 onwards we see a steep drop in the number of students as they leave school to help their parents earn a living. We try to give the children in our care a taste of childhood while they are with us, a love for learning and a desire to better their life. We teach them music and art in addition to the curriculum. See our Facebook page for the kind of activities they do at school https://www.facebook.com/kishwer.aziz?ref=tn_tnmn#!/groups/486631834761996/
